While looking for an Aborigine song that gave me an earworm--I found this interesting aboriginal song. By looking at this video, I suspect that this song is actually a love song between a man and a woman,. It does sound very Ifugao-like as well.

For example, former president Rodrigo R. Duterte declared martial law in Mindanao when the Mautes attacked. Now, the rally against corruption in itself isn't inherently wrong . People need to do some peaceful protests , and it doesn't seem that the people were engaging in degrading behavior . Sometimes, we need to have a peaceful protest to be able to make a difference, as was what the late Martin Luther King Jr. did, to secure black rights , and how female rights activists fought to secure equal rights for men and women, such as Susan B. Vietnam Times October 10 is mostly associated with Double 10 in Taiwan. However, Communism has its celebration with Hanoi Liberation Day . I got this information from the Vietnam Times on what the day is all about: Along with the victory of Dien Bien Phu campaign, the Geneva Agreements on armistice in Indochina was signed. After many days of struggling in the Geneva Conference, agreements on transfering Hanoi to the Vietnamese people were finally signed on September 30th and October 2nd 1954 in the United Armistice Center Committee. Following the Resolution on September 17th 1954 of the Government Council, the City Troops Committee of Hanoi was established with General Vuong Thua Vu, the commander of the Pioneer Division, as the Chairman and doctor Tran Duy Hung as the Vice Chairman. The City Troops Committee of Hanoi had the task of taking over and managing the city. The Paternity of Sergio Osmeña Sr.

More than 10 years ago while I was a college student, I remembered one of the topics raised was who in the world was the father of the late Sergio Osmeña Sr.? I remembered my Humanities subject while I studied at the University of San Carlos (USC) during my summer classes. I immediately took summer classes after I finished my associate's degree and proceeded to take my bachelor's degree in business administration. We had a field trip at Casa Gorordo in Cebu where one of the curators said, "Just who was his father?" There was a wild guess it was the late Pedro Lee Singson Gotiaoco. The Freeman I heard from someone, back in college, that neither Tomas Osmeña nor the late John Gokongwei Jr. admits to being related to each other. Gokongwei Jr. is a great-grandson of Gotiaoco. Harsh Lessons from the Chiong Sisters Case, from a Nobody's Perspective

July 16, 1997, was when the Chiong sisters, Jacqueline Jimenea Chiong and Marijoy Jimenea Chiong, disappeared. I still believe the body in Carcar was actually Marijoy. Jacqueline may have been the victim of a no-body found murder case (read here ). I don't believe the claims that either one or two sisters are actually hiding in Canada. The proof is still moot at best . It's safe to assume that both have died. I watched Give Up Tomorrow (read here )   and fortunately, GMA-7 had featured their case in Case Unclosed (read here ) , all before the documentary was finished. I've seen both documentaries. However, I may prefer to look into Case Unclosed due to its more direct approach in giving the details. I'm not a lawyer and I don't think I'm fit to handle such cases. The 1986 Snap Elections Would Also Disprove the Myth of the "Marcos Parliament"

Anti-charter change proponents love to use Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. among their reasons, to defend their stand. The argument is that "charter change must be evil" because Marcos used it--a fallacy of Guilt by Association . Please, even Atty. Maria Leonor Gerona-Robredo's supporter  Andrew James Masigan  supports charter change! Now, we must look at Marcos and remember another significant event. It's the 1986 snap elections and why it's also proof that we never had a parliamentary form of government. February 7, 1986, was when Marcos declared snap elections. Two years before the snap election, Marcos even declared that the Philippines was never a parliamentary government under him : The adoption of certain aspects of a parliamentary system in the amended Constitution does not alter its essentially presidential character . Amis Tribal Feelings Dance

This is another fun tribal dance video. I guess my obsession with Taiwanese milk tea (and the tea leaves are grown from Mt. Alishan) got me into this. Also, the tea brand Tealive (which is a Malaysian brand) got me more interested in this video.  Using Google translate, the song title "部落情懷" (Bùluò qínghuái) means "Tribal Feelings". It's a good thing to have Google translate these days especially when one is trying to learn the Chinese language.

The Trial of the Decade in Cebu City Revisited

  May 5, 1999, was when Cebu City's trial of the decade supposedly ended. There was massive panic when two days after the Chiong sisters, Jacqueline and Marijoy went missing,; a body was found in the ravine of Carcar. Some doubt that the body was really the late Marijoy Jimenea Chiong. In my opinion, the body was hers since nobody has claimed the body. I would like to blog on what I'd call the mistrial of the decade in Cebu City. Although the late Judge Martin Ocampo may be gone, what he did was definitely highlighted in the documentary Give Up Tomorrow . After writing a review of Give Up Tomorrow --I feel the story is far from over as the seven wrongfully tagged suspects continue to remain in the guilty status. It's hard to believe that  Francisco Juan Gonzalez Larrañaga aka Paco  was innocent. I could remember dropping my jaw, doing some Internet research,  and finding the documentary Give Up Tomorrow . Philosophy 101: Introducing the Monsodian Dialectic

  Some time ago, I wrote about Atty. Hilario Davide is considered a hero by diehard 1987 Constitution apologists . Now, it's time to dig into what I call the Monsodian dialectic. A dialectic is "the art of investigating or discussing the truth of opinions". I'd like to remind people that just because I'm not an economist (which Winnie Monsod is) or I'm no lawyer (like Atty. Christian Monsod), doesn't mean that their mistakes are automatically right, and I can't write where I'm wrong. The stand of the Monsods, maybe even until death do they part, is that there's no need to need to amend the 1987 Constitution. Instead, the usual argument, according to the Monsodian Dialectic, is that we can never blame the charter for the Philippines' ills. Is There No Need for Constitutional Reform, Because the Nation is Now "Healing" During the Midterm Elections 2025?

Two days ago, I voted during the Midterm Elections . Of course, I'm not allowed to post my ballot online. I'll address people who believe the nation is "healing" because Atty. Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan and Paolo Benigno "Bam" A. Aquino have won the senatorial race. Okay, congratulations to Kiko and Bam for winning. The nuisance candidate Apollo C. Quiboloy had lost the elections, thankfully. Some say that success is but a step-by-step process. However, you can be taking the wrong steps. To say that the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines is the "best in the world", has made us ignore Article XVII , and even think that the Filipino First Policy is good.
