Real Talk: Kakampink Fanatics Aren't Above Personality-Based Politics

Image
Asia Society I didn't want to write this post. However, I feel some urgency, especially with some people who have low reading comprehension, and made Ad Homimen attacks against Senator Robinhood Padilla . Should it be a surprise to a nation where reading comprehension is in danger? Now, I'd like to write another topic. It's crazy how some Kakampinks may think they're above personality-based politics. However, take a look at the picture above this paragraph. It's no different from the Marcos fanatics, Duterte fanatics, etc. That's why there's the term Noytard, Dutertard, Marcostard, etc. The -tard is from retard , which means someone who was an intellectual disability . However, I think -tard is too good since a retarded person may actually be behaving more decently than people with a graduate school or doctorate degree, from highly prestigious universities . It makes me think of Gerry Cacandindin's posts on Facebook. Thankfully, his Facebook profile is o...

Don't Expect a Mahathir-Type Leader, Under the 1987 Constitution!

Image
ABS CBN News Happy 100th birthday, Mahathir Mohamad! It's something that not so many people live up to 100, or more. The late Fidel V. Ramos passed away on July 31, 2022, at the age of 94. Ramos's advanced age may be the reason why the Omicron variant (which isn't supposedly fatal) ended his life. I'm posting this image of Ramos and Mahathir for one reason--Ramos wanted charter change back in the 1990s. However, plenty of anti-charter change commercials came in, the late Raul Roco said we only need a change in people, and we have Hilario G. Davide Jr. (who's in his late 80s but still active), and the idea that having a president who will rule for more than six years, is supposedly scary. Please, have they even thought that the late Pol Pot ruled Cambodia for just four years, but carried millions of deaths , that would make the late Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.'s 20-year reign  look tame (read here )? I've read posts on Facebook saying the Philippines just needs l...

Big Question: How Many Anti-Dynasty Bill Proponents Are Aware of the Sotto POLITICAL DYNASTY?!

Image
Pass the anti-dynasty bill but vote for Vico Sotto? People tend to focus  too much on political dynasties. The problem is fat dynasties, not the political dynasties . People saying, "No to political dynasty." while saying, "Yes to Vico Sotto!" need to swallow this fact--Vico is also part of a political dynasty!  As I look into the Sotto Family Tree, Vico is a great-grandson of Cebu mayor Vicente Sotto . If that's not a political dynasty,  then what is a political dynasty? It's like supporting Paolo Benigno "Bam" A. Aquino and he's actually a great-grandson of Servilliano Aquino, a grandson of Benigno Aquino Sr., and a nephew of Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.!  If we look at Vico's family tree, we realize that his great-grandfather is a mayor, his uncles Val and Tito are senators, and his cousins Wahoo, Nina, and Gian are all in office. Why are political dynasty opponents praising Vico? What would they say if I told them, "Hey, do...

The Whole Cry of "No to Political Dynasties" (for the Sake of It) is a Self-Destructive Mechanism

Image
There's no questions asked that fat political dynastes are problematic . Some people say, "No need to change/amend the constitution, just pass the anti-dynasty law." Well, it's really stupid when you've got netizens who are still fixated over political dynasties (for the sake of it) than what gave birth to the fat dynasties (which are indeed, problematic). However, a lot of Filipinos are obsessed with the idea, "It's not the system, it's the people!" Come on, basic psychology tells us that the system tells us what to do. An outdated operating system will be a huge disadvantage, sooner or later.  The first problem has to do with passing the anti-dynasty bill, but the one wrote the idea is still from a political dynasty It's crazy to say, "No to political dynasties." while supporting Jose Manuel "Chel" Diokno and Paolo Benigno A. Aquino-- both members of political dynasties! Don't tell me that Bam couldn't be part of...

Is There No Need for Constitutional Reform, Because the Nation is Now "Healing" During the Midterm Elections 2025?

Image
Two days ago, I voted during the Midterm Elections. Of course, I'm not allowed to post my ballot online. I'll address people who believe the nation is "healing" because Atty. Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan and Paolo Benigno "Bam" A. Aquino have won the senatorial race. Okay, congratulations to Kiko and Bam for winning. The nuisance candidate Apollo C. Quiboloy had lost the elections, thankfully. Some say that success is but a step-by-step process. However, you can be taking the wrong steps. To say that the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines is the "best in the world", has made us ignore Article XVII, and even think that the Filipino First Policy is good. Here's a screenshot I took from Butthurt Philippines' Facebook page. Is it really "healing" for the country as claimed by this person, whose name I blocked out? I usually block out the names of people who are private citizens, to protect their identity. However, I may not b...

Okay, We've Heard These Wise Words by the Late Luis V. Teodoro, But Ever Heard of His Words About th PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM?!

Image
There's nothing wrong with complaining. Complaining can be productive. However, the problem with the likes of Butthurt Philippines (where I got the quote above) is that they'd rather stick to complaining than getting solutions. Even worse, it seems that the administrator of the Butthurt Philippines Facebook page is that he'd rather look at me as some "DDS troll". Is that the best answer that its owner, who I heard is Lico Reloj (if that's his real name), could even come up with? They'd dismiss me because I'm part of the CoRRECT Movement Moderated Public Forum. I've been insulted for my supposed poor ability in detecting sarcasm. Maybe I should've researched word elongation to detect sarcasm. However, with the way Butthurt Philippines' Facebook page carries things--I doubt that it's productive complaining.  The quote by the late Luis V. Teodoro is right. I was reminded of why I wanted to move out of the Philippines. I always felt it was ...

Should Vico Sotto Be a Reason to Oppose Constitutional Reform?

Image
It's something when people keep saying, "It's not the constitution that's the problem! It's the people!" The rise of Victor "Vico" Ma. Regis Nubla Sotto can be something. It's a breath of fresh air. People might use Vico (aside from every other candidate they blindly adore like some god or goddess) to resist the need for constitutional reform. Previously, I wrote about whether or not the late Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" C. Aquino III should be a reason not to pursue economic charter change . Now, I'd like to write a post on whether or not Vico should be a reason to reject constitutional reform.  I read through The Philippine Star  and found an interesting article on Vico. As I read through it, here's something Vico said, and hopefully, he's for constitutional reform: “ Good governance isn’t flashy, but it is the bedrock of progres s. If you build the right systems and lead with integrity, everything else – whether scholarships, ...

The Foolishness of Complaining About Stupid Voters and Stupid Candidates, While Insisting the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines is "So Perfect"

Image
I was looking into the Facebook page of Butthurt Philippines . Honestly, it's easy to complain but what's the use of complaining if you reject the solutions? The art produced by its administrator shows some problems. However, if the administrator here believes that the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines is "perfect as it is" (and he seems to be throwing a "saving face" by saying it was just sarcasm, and I failed to detect it) then it's really something. It's one thing to keep complaining. Complaining can be good. However, what's the use of complaining if you reject the solutions. Even worse, complaining about the quality of candidates for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections, while still saying, "It's not the system it's the people!" Please, that kind of thinking has been refuted even by basic psychology and political science! It's really good to point out the three problems. Distractions? Check. Keeping people hopeless? Ch...

Real Talk: If the Constitution Wasn't the Problem, Why Was It EVEN NECESSARY to Write a NEW Constitution AFTER EDSA 1986?!

Image
EDSA people's power should never be downplayed. It was the downfall of an illegitimate government. Both Benigno Simeon "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. and Salvador "Doy" Laurel had their rare interviews in Japan (read here ), addressing the Marcos Years' lack of legitimacy. Doy even mentioned Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.'s 16-year rule as lacking legitimacy. In short, the claim that the Philippines already tried having a parliamentary system at that time is false. Ninoy highlighted the problems behind Marcos' "new constitution". In fact, it's still worth laughing at the details that reveal the crooked methods used, and why the Philippines never had a parliamentary system: And so my friends, we started with an American-type constitution, we move to a British-type constitution.  We had a parliamentary form of government without a parliament. Until 1978, we did not have a parliament. And yet, we were supposed to be a parliamentary form of government.  And...
