Bongbong Marcos Got Mistaken as "Prime Minister" at ASEAN Malaysia 2025?

Image
Mistakes like these are common. It's probably because Malaysians are too accustomed to the term "prime minister" than president. Malaysia's Head of State is a monarch, not a president , compared to its former territory of Singapore. In fact, some Filipinos have referred to prime ministers as "presidente" (president) on social media. It's probably because Filipinos are too accustomed to the term president, to refer to any head of the country. I find this mistake rather funny. Honestly, someone in charge should've double-checked before even addressing President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.. Marcos is a president, belonging to a presidential system. Also, not every prime minister belongs to a parliamentary system . I just pray that Raissa Espinosa-Robles doesn't take advantage of this situation to demonize the parliamentary system (read here ). However, I'm also anticipating that Mrs. Robles will, so I could at least, fire another shot!  Some prime m...

Big Question: How Many Anti-Dynasty Bill Proponents Are Aware of the Sotto POLITICAL DYNASTY?!

Image
Pass the anti-dynasty bill but vote for Vico Sotto? People tend to focus  too much on political dynasties. The problem is fat dynasties, not the political dynasties . People saying, "No to political dynasty." while saying, "Yes to Vico Sotto!" need to swallow this fact--Vico is also part of a political dynasty!  As I look into the Sotto Family Tree, Vico is a great-grandson of Cebu mayor Vicente Sotto . If that's not a political dynasty,  then what is a political dynasty? It's like supporting Paolo Benigno "Bam" A. Aquino and he's actually a great-grandson of Servilliano Aquino, a grandson of Benigno Aquino Sr., and a nephew of Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.!  If we look at Vico's family tree, we realize that his great-grandfather is a mayor, his uncles Val and Tito are senators, and his cousins Wahoo, Nina, and Gian are all in office. Why are political dynasty opponents praising Vico? What would they say if I told them, "Hey, do...

How a Deaf Beethoven, Composed Wonderful Music That Survived Beyond His Grave

Image
A composer who was deaf? That's really something to think about. Ludwig Van Beethoven gradually lost his hearing. It may have been caused by a lack of knowledge about lead poisoning at that time. The ZME Science gives this interesting detail on how Beethoven coped with his gradual hearing loss: Despite living in pain, Beethoven did not give up. However, he had a helping hand. In order to continue composing and playing music, Beethoven stumbled across a physical phenomenon that is central to hearing: bone conduction . At the time, scientists understood very little about how human hearing works. But despite the fact that his ears left him, he could still hear himself playing music by placing one end of a wooden stick onto his piano and clenching on the other end with his teeth. When notes were struck, the vibrations from the piano were transferred to his jaw, and from there directly to his inner ear. Miraculously, he could hear again! Bone conduction was born. Sound is nothing mor...

The Whole Cry of "No to Political Dynasties" (for the Sake of It) is a Self-Destructive Mechanism

Image
There's no questions asked that fat political dynastes are problematic . Some people say, "No need to change/amend the constitution, just pass the anti-dynasty law." Well, it's really stupid when you've got netizens who are still fixated over political dynasties (for the sake of it) than what gave birth to the fat dynasties (which are indeed, problematic). However, a lot of Filipinos are obsessed with the idea, "It's not the system, it's the people!" Come on, basic psychology tells us that the system tells us what to do. An outdated operating system will be a huge disadvantage, sooner or later.  The first problem has to do with passing the anti-dynasty bill, but the one wrote the idea is still from a political dynasty It's crazy to say, "No to political dynasties." while supporting Jose Manuel "Chel" Diokno and Paolo Benigno A. Aquino-- both members of political dynasties! Don't tell me that Bam couldn't be part of...

Is There No Need for Constitutional Reform, Because the Nation is Now "Healing" During the Midterm Elections 2025?

Image
Two days ago, I voted during the Midterm Elections. Of course, I'm not allowed to post my ballot online. I'll address people who believe the nation is "healing" because Atty. Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan and Paolo Benigno "Bam" A. Aquino have won the senatorial race. Okay, congratulations to Kiko and Bam for winning. The nuisance candidate Apollo C. Quiboloy had lost the elections, thankfully. Some say that success is but a step-by-step process. However, you can be taking the wrong steps. To say that the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines is the "best in the world", has made us ignore Article XVII, and even think that the Filipino First Policy is good. Here's a screenshot I took from Butthurt Philippines' Facebook page. Is it really "healing" for the country as claimed by this person, whose name I blocked out? I usually block out the names of people who are private citizens, to protect their identity. However, I may not b...

Real Talk: Presidential System is Based on Personality/Popularity

Image
Here's a picture from TV-5's Facebook page showing former senator Paolo Benigno "Bam" A. Aquino's campaign. If I'm not wrong, he's the youngest great-grandson of Servilliano Aquino (who was a general under Emilio Aguinaldo), as his age gap with the late Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" C. Aquino III is born in 195,8 and Bam was born in 1977. As I look at the billboards, Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan apparently uses his marriage to actress Sharon Cuneta to endorse his candicacy. Looking at Bam's campaign reminds me of how actors and athletes are often hired to endorse candidates. That makes me ask, "What's the use of complaining about Robinhood Padilla in the Senate when your favorite candidates are endorsed also by actors and athletes? Isn't that still showbiz politics?"  A shame that Bam should be caught in the act doing what he did--because of his fine intelligence as a businessman . Bam's business achievements are someth...
